What is a Pandemic?

A pandemic is when there is widespread transmission of the virus from  person to person in several countries throughout the world.   A pandemic refers to the levels of virus activity and not the severity of the disease.

The Pandemic Planning Core Committee has constructed the plan based on the Saskatchewan Pandemic Influenza Plan.  The Heartland Health Region Plan describes the Region's response to the Pandemic. The plan is a result of consultation with the Region's many programs and services.
