and develop higher levels of confidence to manage and cope with chronic
health conditions.To give people more confidence in handling their own health problems.To give and receive support from others who are experiencing similar health problems.
Included in this six week program are:
program began in 2002 ,and it is delivered under license from Stanford
University by volunteer lay leaders. Pairs of trained volunteers work
with groups of up to 12 people, once a week for 2.5 hours for six
consecutive weeks. Results suggest that the program impacts people’s
sense of well being and reduces healthcare utilization.

are always looking for volunteer peer leaders to co-lead this six week
program. Leaders receive four full days of training as well as a
leader’s manual and would ideally commit to leading a minimum of 2 six
